I had very little clue as to what a doula really was but I wanted to have a natural birth and not have the same experience I had with my first. At first I thought it was something more medical, but old school like a “curandera” or a “partera” but if I was so far off. Tiare was wayyy more than that. She became my best friend, sister, mother, and greatest support system from the minute I hired her. She was super informative and helped ease a lot of my worries and fears. I’m pretty sure I would have opted for an epidural right away had she not been a part of my journey. She even made us a home cooked meal after birth! I’m still not positive what a doula is… but I guess she was more than a doula and that’s why. Words cannot express how grateful I am for her.

When my girlfriend mentioned wanting a doula, I was confused as to why. I honestly think having a doula was one of the most important decisions we made that helped us have a good labor. Tiare was there for my girlfriend as soon as we hired her. She stayed in touch and made sure I was also doing my part in supporting my girlfriend every step of the way. During labor I found myself feeling lost & alone in the delivery room when the doctors asked her to exit the room for a few minutes. There was 1 doctor and 4-5 other nurses trying to help but it wasn’t much help. I looked around desperately looking for support as I heard my girlfriend going through contractions in the background. Tiare was finally allowed back into the room and as soon as she came in, I regained focus, and determination, I no longer felt lost and alone. She was the support I needed in that moment. Being supported allowed me to support my girlfriend through the last stretch of labor. Thank you Tiare for being there for us every step of the way, for helping and supporting us throughout and after labor.

When I first found out I was having a baby , I reached out to Tiare to be by my side throughout this journey. She was very attentive , knowledgeable , patient , supportive and well informed about the birth I wanted . So throughout my 9 months , she was my Doula. She made me and baby feel safe , feel heard , feel at peace . She didn’t sugarcoat anything and always had our best interest at heart. She provided tools and resources for us to learn and gain knowledge on the essential purpose of birth and she empowered me as a woman. If I had to do it all over again, Tiare would be my choice over and over again. She did not leave my side from the time I started prodromal labor til baby was earth side . Tiare is the epitome if not beyond of what a doula should be . A birthing coach, a mommy mentor , a birth advocate, a mother guiding another mother . My experience was nothing short of amazing , I felt connected to her in so many ways and I couldn’t thank her enough . The amount of time and attention she has given us has been heaven sent, it’s the little details that were BIG for us , coming to help with dishes after baby was born , bringing us food, helping me with breastfeeding , teaching me ways to help baby latch better , checking in to see how we are doing physically and mentally . Tiare was meant to be a doula , she does is so effortlessly and her purpose was found in birth
